Lazzat Spices hosts mega sports tournament to promote drug-free society

Sopore, May 07 (KNO): To strengthen the fight against drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle among youth, Lazzat Spices on Thursday hosted a sports tournament in Sopore in support of the ongoing Nasha Mukht Abhiyan of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The tournament, as reported by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), witnessed participation from at least eight teams, drawing enthusiastic response from youth and sports lovers. The event aimed at spreading awareness against drugs and encouraging youngsters to engage in positive and constructive activities. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib said the initiative formed part of the broader Nasha Mukht Abhiyan being carried out across Jammu and Kashmir to safeguard youth from the growing menace of drugs. “Our aim is to involve youngsters in sports and constructive activities so that they remain away from drugs and other anti-social activities. Sports serve as a powerful medium to build discipline, confidence and unity among youth,” he said. SSP Talib said police were committed to ensuring a safer and drug-free society through sustained awareness programmes and active public participation. Managing Director of Lazzat Spices, Aijaz Bhat, said the company was proud to host an initiative aimed at youth engagement and social reform. “Youth are the backbone of society, and it is our collective responsibility to guide them towards a better future. Such tournaments provide a positive platform and help keep youngsters away from drugs and anti-social activities,” he said. Known for actively promoting sports activities in the region, Aijaz has remained at the forefront of encouraging youth participation in games and community-based programmes. Participants and residents appreciated the initiative and called for more such events to channelise the energy of youth in a positive direction—(KNO)
